Self Portrait Drawing

In this project we took our picture from the 1st or 2nd week of school and drew it on Photoshop. I used different sizes of brushes for different parts of my face and torso. Originally I was wearing a blue plaid shirt but decided to switch it to purple. Some how my teeth ended up coming out black
instead of sketched and white but it looks fine.

I then found a picture for my background on the internet it was called "Ice Hotel" and i sketched that out on Photoshop. This didn't take as long as my portrait because there are just fewer lines. Then again painting "Ice Hotel" took a very long time. I had to get the horizon even looking and made sure that the colors scaled in darkness starting at the building at a the lightest shade of blue. In the original picture of "Ice Hotel" there were clearly defined people to the left of the building, but with painting I had to just paint them in black. The reason i picked "Ice Hotel" is because it had a really awesome horizon and cool lighting. What I really learned during this whole exercise was the importance of putting layers in correct order.
Layering can be a disaster if you mess it up, but
can be really amazing if you pull it off right.
