Principles of Design Poster Critique

The Godfather Poster

• This poster has a good color scheme of a matte black and a silver-grey.
• The words The Godfather and the figures are basically perfectly centered in the poster.
• It really gets the point across that the main point of thew movie is "The Godfather" and thats what they want you to pay attention to.
• In the poster the figures clothes are all silver and there faces are black with a silver trim. This gives it an interesting feel of just using the two colors to create a whole theme.
• On the top the award phrase is clearly separated and not meant to be part of the poster and a bit of a side note. This is good because it doesn't Draw away to much attention.
• One thing i don't like is that the actors names aren't separated by a silver line kind of throwing off the theme and unbalancing it, because up top there are two lines.
• The letters are very close together but still readable. They almost have a sinister look to them.

Pen Tool Exercise

I messed with levels a little bit because the epic ping pong player was a little to dark for the picture and it looked really odd. This is a retarded picture in the first place so I didn't really know how to make it blend better, because it is so ridiculous in the first place.
